Our Mission

We are a group of over 60 concerned citizens who are working to help the dogs at the Trenton Animal Shelter find loving fur-ever homes. We are not associated with the shelter as they do not allow volunteers.

Our dedicated members have helped save over 100 dogs from the euthanasia list so far this year. We do this by promoting the dogs via hundreds of fliers distributed across New Jersey and eastern PA; social media posts on Facebook, Nextdoor, and Instagram; and coordinating with other rescues to help pull animals in need.

We help connect potential fosters and adopters with the shelter and provide resources to help make the transition from shelter to home as smooth as possible.

Our Impact

How We Make A Difference

Rescue

Our primary focus is to find homes for the timestamped dogs at Trenton Animal Shelter. By creating and distributing fliers and through collaboration with local rescues, we work tirelessly to keep dogs out of the shelter and place them in safe, loving environments.

Advocasy

Beyond rescue, we advocate for meaningful change. Trenton’s animal-related laws and ordinances are too often ignored or unenforced. In addition, the shelter suffers from a lack of resources leading to issues with proper care of animals and barriers to adoptions including reduced staff, lack of follow-up, and unworkable hours for many potential adopters. We continue to try to work with the city to allow volunteers to come back to the shelter and help bridge this gap in resources.

Fundraising

When the animals are in need we often fundraise to help get them what they need. This may be specific resources such as beds or it may be donations to other rescues in exchange for them pulling a time-stamped dog. We are so thankful to the community for always stepping up to help in these situations!
